The IAM’s Trade and Globalization Department has responsibility for developing policy and coordinating IAM activities involving internationally related issues. These include examining and attempting to influence regional and world trade agreements. The department develops multinational codes of conduct, shareholder resolutions, reviews foreign policies and checks on the activities of governmental and financial institutions. Transnational corporations doing business in North America are scrutinized, including how they operate around the world. Efforts to coordinate organizing and collective bargaining throughout the world are key aspects of our responsibility.
