William B. Cashion was initiated into the IAM on December 1, 1985. Cashion began his career at Piedmont Airlines in the Line Avionics and Electrical shop. Elected to Shop Seward in 1986. Cashion served as President of Local Lodge 1725 from 1993 to 2000 and Secretary-Treasurer of Local Lodge 1725 from 2001 to 2014. Cashion has spent time as President of the North Carolina State Council of Machinists, President of the Southern Piedmont Central Labor Council, and Vice President of the North Carolina AFL-CIO. Cashion also served as an Educator and member of the Organizing and Legislative Committees of his Local Lodge.
On January 1, 2014, Cashion was appointed as a Grand Lodge Auditor, where he served until July 19, 2021, when he was appointed as a Special Representative in the Air Transport Territory and later elevated to a Grand Lodge Representative.
