Juan comes out of the Aerospace industry. He went to work at Cessna Aircraft in 1999. He worked on two different lines including the Citation XL/ XLS as well as the Citation Sovereign. He started off as a sheet metal mechanic then went on to radio and electrical electrician and ended as a Final Assembly Mechanic. He was soon elected shop steward for his department at local lodge 774. While at Cessna Local Lodge 774 he was an organizer, union safety advocate, negotiator, trustee and an Assistant Plant Chair. In 2008 he was appointed Sergeant of Arms at the Grand Lodge Convention. In 2012 he was appointed to District Lodge 70 as an organizer. In 2014 after Textron purchased Hawker Beechcraft Juan successfully organized over 100 aircraft mechanics and service technicians at Beechcraft’s unorganized Service Center in Wichita, Ks. Juan was appointed as a Special Representative in 2015 in the Organizing Department at Headquarters. He became a Grand Lodge Representative in 2018. While in the Organizing Department Juan has had a lot of success leading and winning campaigns. Juan specializes in running campaigns in the Private and Federal Sectors as well as running internal and external campaigns. In 2023 Juan led a team on a large internal campaign to successfully bring in over 1,000 new dues-paying members.
Juan is one of the Department’s staff members who helps teach the Organizing Departments BTO Program. He is also a proud member and delegate of LCLAA (Labor Council for Latin American Advancement). Juan resides in the Great State of Texas.
